J&K Lieutenant Governor celebrates PM Narendra’s birthday with children at ‘Plash’ and ‘Prisha’ homes in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 27 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with the children by visiting ‘Plash’ and ‘Parisha’ children’s homes in Srinagar. He distributed school bags, sports kits and sweets among the children and also reviewed the residential facilities provided for their welfare.
The Lieutenant Governor interacted with the children and got information about their education, sports and other activities and expressed his best wishes for their better future.
Later, he visited the Children’s Hospital in Bimina, where he met the young patients undergoing treatment and inquired about their well-being and wished them a speedy and complete recovery. On this occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being launched from today, which will be a month-long public service campaign till October 17.
He said that this campaign is being organized to highlight the 25 years of public service of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that 12 different programs will be organized during the next one month, including competitions among school students on the theme of ‘My Dream India’, encouragement and honoring of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, tree plantation campaign, youth-related activities and registration camps under ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’.
LG Sinha said that ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ will be run at the block and ward levels till October 17, under which 3 to 4-day camps will be organized to register the deserving and deprived people who have not yet benefited from various government welfare schemes. He appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to participate fully in this campaign and play their role in connecting the deserving people with government welfare schemes.
Sinha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked day and night to serve the 140 crore people of the country and under his leadership, Jammu and Kashmir A new and strong era has also been built in the country. He said that the country’s GDP growth rate in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 has been 7.8%. According to him, there has also been significant progress in other indicators of welfare and development in the country, while 25 crore people have come above the poverty line and 80 crore people are being provided free ration under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Manoj Sinha also mentioned the expansion of the national highway network in the country. He said that the total length of national highways will increase from 91 thousand kilometers to 1 lakh 46 thousand kilometers, while the number of airports in the country has increased from 74 to 165. The Lieutenant Governor said that Kashmir is now directly connected to the railway network, while historic changes are taking place in the sectors of development and infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that discrimination has ended and a new era of development is underway in the Union Territory. He mentioned the ongoing welfare initiatives across the country and said that 11 crore toilets, over 10 crore gas connections and 4 crore Pradhan Mantri Awas have been provided, while another 3 crore houses are under construction.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir will emerge as an unparalleled example of prosperity and happiness. He urged the people to actively participate in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and promote the spirit of service to the people and helping the deserving.
