Education minister links call on extension in winter vacation to weather situation

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 27 (STC): With heavy snowfall continuing across Kashmir valley, the government is monitoring the situation to take a decision on extending winter vacations.
The Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo today stated that authorities are closely monitoring the weather situation and will take a call accordingly.
“We are closely watching the weather conditions, and in case of heavy snowfall, we will make a decision on the extension of winter vacation tomorrow,” Itoo told a local news agency KINS over the phone.
However, she clarified that if the weather improves, schools will reopen as scheduled on March 1. (STC)
