MLA Mubarak Gul pitches for free medical treatment, transportation services for ex-legislators

JAMMU, MARCH 03 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir government should frame a comprehensive mechanism for the former legislators in terms of providing them free medical treatment and transportation services.
MLA Eidgah, Mubarak Gul, said this on Monday during obituary references on the first day of the budget session in the J&K Assembly.
Making his point, MLA Mubarak Gul stated: “We have seen in many states and even in Parliament that former members are provided with free medical treatment and transportation services. We want a similar kind of arrangement for the former legislators of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He said that a former legislator cannot engage in normal routine business. He cannot sit in a shop or anywhere else. Anyone can attack him. This is the reality of the situation. That is why I urge the government to frame a comprehensive mechanism for the former legislators. (Inputs from KNO)
