Kashmiri youth shine in Chinar Open Winter Games at Gulmarg

SRINAGAR, MARCH 15 (STC): Chinar Open Winter Games 2025, a flagship initiative by the Indian Army, successfully concluded today amidst the breathtaking snow-clad landscapes of Gulmarg. The event was organized by the Pir Panjal Brigade of the Dagger Division, the event was a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, community spirit, and youth empowerment.

​According to a statement issued to media by the army, the games provided an inspiring platform for the youth of Kashmir to showcase their talents and channel their energy into competitive and constructive activities. This edition witnessed record-breaking participation, with a total of 634 participants competing across 18 events. Among them were 167 girls and 467 boys, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for winter sports across the region.
​The event featured an exhilarating line up of winter sports competitions, ranging from high-adrenaline skiing races and thrilling snowboarding events to elegant skating rink performances. Participants seized the opportunity to test their abilities against some of the region’s finest athletes, drawing large and enthusiastic crowds, reads the statement.
