: A moving gesture at Srinagar’s historic Jama Masjid, observing two minutes of silence before Friday prayers to honour the victims of the Pahalgam attack, delighted the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
In this backdrop, the Chief Minister strongly criticized national news channels for spreading hatred against Kashmiris and ignoring moments of peace and solidarity in the region.
“The silence that took place in Jama Masjid is a response to all those channels that are trying to spread poison against Kashmiris,” Abdullah said. “But unfortunately, these shameless channels will not show this because broadcasting such reality won’t help their TRPs.”
He added that media houses’ hunger for high viewership should show the truth of what is happening in Jammu and Kashmir. “If they stop showing the reality from the Kashmir Valley, their TRP will drop. These channels spread hatred and lack the courage to show the truth,” he said.

“Some of these anchors are cowards. They don’t support the truth. If they did, they would have shown how the people of Kashmir stood in solidarity at Jama Masjid, he said.” (STC)
