Don’t victimize innocent while fighting terrorism: JK CM Omar Abdullah

SRINAGAR, APRIL 27 (STC): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged for a decisive fight against terrorism while cautioning against alienating the local population.
In a post on X, Omar wrote: “The people of Kashmir have spoken firmly and unequivocally against terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians. Their condemnation has been free and spontaneous. We must build on this, not squander it through actions that alienate the very people whose support we need. By all means identify and punish the guilty but do not victimize the innocent and push people away.”

The Chief Minister stressed that while action against terrorists must be strong and unrelenting, authorities must ensure that innocent civilians are not caught up in the crackdown. He warned that alienating the people would weaken the public support that is crucial for defeating terrorism. (STC)
