NEW DELHI, JUNE 18 (STC): Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the G7 Outreach Session on the day 2 of the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, has reiterated India’s firm stand against terrorism. He called on G7 leaders to take strong global action against terrorism and stressed the need to act firmly against those who “promote and support” it.
PM Modi said countries that support terrorism must face consequences. “For global peace and prosperity, our thought and policy must be clear – if any country supports terrorism, it will have to pay the price for it,” he said.
He also pointed out a double standard in international actions. “On one hand, we are quick to impose all kinds of sanctions based on our own preferences. On the other hand, countries that openly support terrorism are rewarded,” he said.
Meanwhile, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X, “PM reiterated India’s stand against terrorism & thanked the leaders for condemning the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack. He urged them to galvanize global action against terrorism & underlined the need to take strict action against those who promote & support terrorism.”
