Govt working to facilitate smooth, dignified return of Kashmiri students evacuated from Iran: JK CM

SRINAGAR, JUNE 19 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that his government is now working to facilitate their smooth and dignified return of the Kashmiri students brought back from war-torn Iran.
He was responding to the concerns raised by students evacuated from Iran regarding the quality of buses arranged for their onward journey from Delhi to home state. Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister assured that the matter has been taken seriously and appropriate steps are underway.
According to Omar Abdullah, 94 students from J&K who were recently evacuated from Iran have safely arrived in Delhi. The state government, he said, is now working to facilitate their smooth and dignified return home.
The Resident Commissioner in Delhi has been directed to coordinate with the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) to ensure that proper deluxe buses are arranged for the students. Transport arrangements are expected to be in place within the next few hours.
