Government orders reopening of schools with revised timing from tomorrow following scheduled summer break

SRINAGAR, JULY 07 (STC):
Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered reopening of all schools in Kashmir after the scheduled summer vacations end today (July 07). All schools falling under municipal limits across all districts in will reopen tomorrow, July 08.
Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo confirmed that schools from primary to class 12th will resume normal functioning with revised school timings set from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM in view of the ongoing heatwave.
“There will be no further extension in the summer break. All schools within municipal areas must resume classes as scheduled,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), G.N. Itoo, has told KNS that schools falling under municipal limits will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while those in rural areas will function from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
He also mentioned that after returning home, students will take a one-hour break, followed by two hours of online classes.
“We are geared up for smooth resumption of academic activities. I urge all stakeholders to ensure regular attendance from day one,” he said.
Notably, the scheduled reopening of schools has ended the public debate which revolved around the demand to extend the vacations owing to continued heatwave.
