Former J&K Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah questions performance of BJP in last six years

: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and President National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah, has questioned the performance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu & Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A in on August 5, 2019. He reiterated demand of restoration of statehood to J&K without any delay and called it “inevitable”.
“When are they going to return the statehood? What did they (BJP) do in 6 years to make J&K better? I am sure they will have to do it; there is no way out,” said Dr. Farooq.
Stating on the “dual governance” structure in J&K, Dr. Farooq said, “The viceroy is sitting here in Raj Bhawan. There is a government (in J&K) but viceroy is the main man. The time has come when this has to change. It is a democratic country.”
