Police holds awareness programme on new criminal laws across various police stations/ posts in Stinagar city

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 28 (STC):
Srinagar Police observed ‘Lok Darbar-cum-Awareness programme of New Criminal Laws (Thana Diwas) across various Police Stations and Police Posts of the Srinagar city.
The event was organized in 08 Police Stations & 03 Police Posts of the district which include PS Masiuma, PS Sangam, PS Rainawari, PS Rajbagh, PS Shaheed Gunj, PS Soura, PS Shalteng, PS Womens, PP Khunmoh, PP Qamarwari and PP Hazratbal.
As per statement if the poluce, the meetings were chaired by supervisory officers & juridictional police officers and were attended by civil society members including members of Auqaf Committees, members of Traders Federation and Transporters, Panchayti Raj members, Religious Preachers, Mohallah elders etc.
During these Lok Darbar cum awareness programmes of New Criminal Laws (Thana Diwas), participants highlighted various issues of public importance and put forth their greivances which were within the domain of district police like illegal narcotics trafficking, sand mafia, traffic issues, floating population etc. some of the issues highlighted pertaining to civil administration like improvement and maintenance of roads, sanitation, public health, electricity etc were also recorded.
District Police Srinagar stated, Lok Darbar Cum Awareness Programme on New Criminal Laws (Thana Diwas) is a platform for us connect directly with the people we serve. It is our duty to ensure that every citizen feels heared and that their grievances are addressed promptly. We are committed to building a safer and more secure environment for all.
Participants were urged to co-operate with Police in curbing the drug menace and in identifying anti national and anti-social elements to maintain peace and order in the society.
Notably, community members assured their cooperation for enhancing police-public relationship.
