Eid Milad Holiday Issue: CM Omar hits “unelected government” for hurting Kashmiris’ sentiments

: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today criticized the Union Territory administration for “a deliberate and inconsiderate move to not shift the holiday on Eid Milad despite the clear provision in the official calendar.”
Dishing out his sentiments in a
post on X, Omar Abdullah, wrote, “The calendar printed by the Government press is very clear — ‘Subject to the appearance of the moon’. It means that the holiday is subject to change depending upon the moon being sighted.”
“The deliberate decision by the unelected government to not shift the holiday is inconsiderate & designed to hurt the sentiments of the people,” it reads.

Hashtags #EidMiladUnNabi and #eidmiladunnabi2025 accompanied his post, underlining his strong objection to the administration’s handling of the matter.
