Governance failure in J&K breeding frustration in people, says Shia Association President Molvi Imran Ansari

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 11 (STC)
: Jammu and Kashmir people trusted their elected representatives, gave full mandates, and supported them with hope. But what did they get back? Promises that disappeared once elections ended, reads the post of
All JK Shia Association President and Senior General Secretary Molvi Imran Ansari, on his X handle.
In the strongly worded post, Ansari highlighted the growing frustration among the people of Jammu and Kashmir over unfulfilled promises and the lack of meaningful governance.
“If those in power truly cared about change, people would have seen results on the ground by now. Instead, they are given noise press statements, protests, and excuses,” he said.
Molvi Ansari took a dig at the National Conference government that despite tall election promises 200 units of free power, one lakh jobs, subsidized gas cylinders, better ration support ordinary people continue to face hardships. Instead of relief, ration cards are now under threat of cancellation. Daily wagers remain in crisis, SPOs recruited under the sports category are left in limbo, open merit students are trapped in endless uncertainty, and contractual workers continue to suffer neglect.
“Governance is not about waiting for perfect conditions. It is about acting with the responsibility already given,” he stressed.
He questioned the contradictions in political conduct, pointing out how leaders demand patience from citizens while failing to act themselves. “If Delhi could carry out reforms in education and health without full statehood, why can’t J&K?” he asked, adding that leaders in J&K must stop hiding behind excuses and deliver results.
Ansari also criticized selective and superficial politics, where leaders chase photo opportunities and social media campaigns but fail to address real ground concerns. He remarked on how elected representatives ignore constituencies once in power, citing the example of Muharram when Shia areas were neglected despite promises during elections.
“People now demand timelines. Enough of vague assurances. Leadership is not about buying time; it is about delivering on time,” Ansari stated.

He concluded by stating that governance is not drama. “Either deliver or step aside. The excuses have run out. Leadership exists to relieve pain, not perpetuate it,” Ansari said.
