BALTAL, JUNE 28 (STC) : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the ‘Shubham–Shivam’ sanitation campaign at the Baltal Base Camp today. He undertook a comprehensive review of the final preparations for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and asserted that all necessary arrangements were in place through the coordinated efforts of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Government of India.
The ‘Shubham–Shivam’ sanitation campaign is an initiative of the Directorate of Rural Sanitation aimed at ensuring a sustainable, clean and zero-landfill pilgrimage this year.
Commending officials, particularly the security agencies, for ensuring comprehensive and foolproof arrangements, the LG said, “The preparations have been underway for several months through the collective efforts of the SASB, the J&K administration and the Government of India. I appreciate all the officials, especially the security agencies, for making comprehensive and foolproof arrangements. I am confident that this year’s Yatra will be conducted even more smoothly and successfully than last year’s.”
In his ‘X’ post, LG Sinha said his priority was to ensure that every devotee of Lord Shiva undertakes the sacred pilgrimage in a safe, comfortable and well-organised environment.
He said, “My priority is that every pilgrim enjoys the spiritual journey and returns with a truly enriching and fulfilling experience.”
