Gurez gets season’s first snowfall

STC NEWS DESK
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 03 (STC): The Gurez Valley in Bandipora district has witnessed its first light snowfall of the season today.
According to the reports, higher elevations, including the Tulail peaks, received a fresh layer of snow, while lower areas experienced rainfall. The snowfall marks the seasonal shift in weather, which typically begins in early October in the upper Himalayan regions.

Mid-altitude zones may receive light snowfall, while the plains in Bandipora district could see intermittent rain. The advisory includes warnings about potential road blockages, landslides, and other weather-related hazards.
The administration has activated emergency control rooms and shared District Control Room numbers, 7006630771 and the Police Control Room number 9596767430 for any assistance.
