BJP’s J&K top brass finalising ‘Secretariat Gherao March’ scheduled on July 20 in Srinagar

: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir President & Member of Parliament Sat Sharma (CA) and Leader of Opposition, MLA Sunil Sharma here today chaired a comprehensive review meeting with the party’s State office bearers, District Presidents, Prabharis and Morcha Presidents to assess the preparations for the proposed ‘Secretariat Gherao March’ scheduled to be held on July 20. (Monday) in Srinagar.
According to a statement issues by the party, the meeting reviewed organisational arrangements, coordination among various party units, mobilisation of workers, and logistical preparations to ensure the peaceful and disciplined conduct of the march.

The ‘Secretariat Gherao March’ will begin from Ghanta Ghar, Lal Chowk, Srinagar, and proceed towards the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, as a peaceful democratic protest to raise the voice of the people against corruption, arbitrary governance, and policies that undermine the interests of the youth and democratic institutions, the party said in its statement.
During the meeting, the agenda of the protest was discussed in detail. The party is determined to raise the demand for strict action against corruption and greater transparency and accountability in governance. The leaders also expressed concern over the delay in strengthening and operationalising Panchayati Raj Institutions, stressing that grassroots democracy must be empowered without further delay, the statement reads.
It further adds that the meeting was attended by BJP General Secretary Anwar Khan, Secretaries Arif Raja and Mudasir Wani, BJP State Office Bearers Sartaj Majeed, Sajad Raina, Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah, Bilal Parray, State spokespersons and others.
