Kashmiri Pandit employees are very vulnerable individuals, says Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 13 (STC): Reacting to a fresh terror threat to Kashmiri Pandit government employees, former Chief Minister and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah expressed serious concern over their safety and urged the Union Home Ministry to intervene. He asserted that the minority community staff were “very vulnerable”.
“People should remember, and the governments should remember, that these are very vulnerable individuals. We should take care of this,” the former chief minister told reporters here.
Notably, the authorities asked Kashmiri Pandit employees to avoid attending offices till August 20 following an online threat issued by a little-known terrorists group.
Condemning the recent spate of terrorist incidents in the valley, including the killing of two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh in Kulgam district, Dr Abdullah said both the public and the administration needed to remain vigilant.
He also reacted to the knife attack on Akali Dal Chief and former Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal in Nanded, Maharashtra.
“We condemn what has happened and we pray to God for peace,” he said.
