LG Sinha meets Home Minister Amit Shah, discusses overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 24 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi during which they discussed the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the achievements of the 100-day anti-drug campaign. Lieutenant Governor presented him a coffee table book titled ‘Nashmukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan – 100 Days Campaign’. This book documents various activities, initiatives and collective efforts undertaken during the 100-day campaign launched to make Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.
During the meeting, Sinha also gave a detailed briefing to Home Minister Amit Shah about the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The briefing discussed the current situation of the Union Territory and various important issues.
Notably, the aim of the book is to record the joint efforts made by the administration, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, youth, voluntary organizations and common citizens during the campaign against drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. During the campaign, the focus was on creating public awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, keeping the youth away from drugs and involving different sections of the society in the anti-drug efforts.
Earlier, the LG had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday and presented him with the same coffee table book. The presentation of the book by the Lieutenant Governor to the Home Minister and the Prime Minister is being seen as an important effort to highlight the ongoing campaign against drugs in Jammu and Kashmir at a high level.
