Police advisory asks educational institutions to ensure safe handover of children to parents or authorised persons

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 24 (STC): Issuing important instructions to all school and madrasa administrations regarding the safety of children, Batmaloo Police Station in Srinagar has asked the institutions in the area to ensure the process of handing over children to their parents or authorized persons and not to allow minor children to go out of the institution alone.
In an advisory issued by the police, the school and madrasa administrations have been asked to take necessary precautions for the safety of children and not to hand over any child to any unauthorized third person. The police have clarified that children should be handed over only to their parents or the driver or attendant of a vehicle duly authorized by the parents. The institutions have been asked not to allow children to go with any unrelated or unauthorized person, so as to ensure their safety.
The advisory also directs schools and madrasas not to allow small or minor children to go out of the institution premises alone.
The police have also appealed to parents not to send minor children to schools or madrasas alone and to ensure necessary safety measures during their transportation. According to the police, the safety of children is not only the responsibility of educational institutions but parents and guardians should also adopt a cautious and responsible attitude in this regard.
The police have appealed to all relevant agencies to strictly follow the instructions and avoid any negligence or unnecessary lapses in the process of handing over children.
