CM Omar Abdullah throws open Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden at Zabarwan foothills in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MARCH 16 (STC):
Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, known as Asia’s largest Tulip Garden, located at the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar was thrown open by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today.
The opening of the Garden marks the arrival of spring in Kashmir. The garden is set to burst into bloom with lakhs of tulips in a wide range of vibrant colours and varieties, offering a breathtaking view to visitors.
Officials told media that more than 70 varieties of tulips have been planted in the garden this year. In addition to tulips, other spring flowers including hyacinths, daffodils, muscari and ranunculus have also been planted to enhance the beauty of the garden and add greater diversity to the floral display.
Notably, the tulip garden is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Kashmir during spring.
Elaborate arrangements are made during the blooming period, including transport facilities, parking arrangements, security deployment and other necessary visitor amenities.
