JKSPDC CSR initiative: CM Omar flags off seven ambulances to five districts

JAMMU, APRIL 21 (STC): In a major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) has donated seven ambulances and ither healthcare equipment at a cost of Rs. 144.73 lakh to five Jammu and Kashmir districts. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today flagged off these ambulances and healthcare equipment from the Civil Secretariat here today, an official spokesperson said.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said strengthening emergency healthcare access, particularly in underserved areas, remains a top priority for the government. “These ambulances will significantly improve timely medical response and save precious lives,” he said.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, JKSPDC Managing Director Rahul Yadav, and Director of Health Services Jammu were among those present on the occasion.
The chief minister was also briefed about other CSR initiatives undertaken by the corporation, including the provision of critical health equipment to various healthcare institutions, supply of essential items to childcare institutions and a blind school, as well as civil construction works carried out during the financial year 2025–26 amounting to Rs. 237.28 lakh.
The CM appreciated JKSPDC’s role in extending support to vital sectors through its CSR initiatives.
