JUNE 25 (STC): Even as India and Pakistan have officially frozen dialogue process, delegates of both the warring neighbours held fresh Track 2 talks in Colombo and Bangkok, reports a cross section of media today.
According to the media reports, the delegates discussed crisis-management mechanisms, terrorism and water issues.
A detailed report published by media outlets states that Indian and Pakistani delegates have held a fresh round of Track Two diplomacy talks in Colombo and Bangkok earlier this week. “The primary objective was to strengthen mechanisms for dialogue during crises, alongside measures to prevent and manage potential escalations,” the report said. During the meetings both sides exchanged notes, and had frank exchanges on issues related to terrorism and water. They also explored ways to feed insights from the current discussions into formal Track One channels.
Notably, track one dialogue involves direct engagement between serving government officials from both countries.
According to the report, one track 2 was held in Doha, involving eminent personalities from both countries. The first report of track 2 India, Pakistan talks was broken by WION in April 2026.
The quiet engagements signal pragmatism. Both Indian and Pakistani govts, on expected lines, remain mum on the existence of such talks, said media reports.
