Only people’s support can end terrorism, not statehood, says NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR , FEBRUARY 12 (STC): National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that restoration of statehood is not going to end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that only people’s support will end it.
Talking to reporters Dr Farooq challenged those who claim terrorism has ended in the region. “Those who have been making tall claims that terrorism has ended here, ask them if it is still there or not,” he said.
He further stated : “Even if statehood is restored and we will get everything, but do people think it will end terrorism here.”
He strongly picthed for people’s support to restore normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. “It is high time we should have peace. Only peace can do something here. Our children are unemployed. How can these issues be addressed when there is no peace,” he remarked. (STC)
