First batch of 178 Hajj pilgrims departs from Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MAY 04 (STC): The first batch of 178 Hajj pilgrims for the year 2025 departed from Srinagar today.
The group was seen off with prayers and blessings in a well-coordinated send-off ceremony attended by senior officials, religious scholars, and members of the Hajj Committee at the Srinagar Hajj House.
Notably, special facilities were also made available at the Hajj House to ensure a smooth departure process, including medical check-ups and logistical support.
The remaining batches are scheduled to depart in the coming days as part of the annual pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Bilal Mohiuddin, said efforts have been made to ensure the departure of Hujaj from the city is smooth and hassle-free. Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar, GV Sundeep, also visited the Hajj House to review the arrangements put in place for the pilgrims.
Over 3,600 pilgrims from J&K are scheduled to perform Hajj this year under the Government quota as per the statement of the Jammu & Kashmir Hajj Committee. (STC).
