SRINAGAR, MAY 04 (STC) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday extended warm wishes and flagged off the first batch of Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir at the Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar.
A total of 178 pilgrims embarked on the sacred journey to Saudi Arabia, marking the commencement of this year’s Haj pilgrimage from the Union Territory.
LG Sinha flagged off the group and shared his greetings through a social media post X “Extended my greetings & best wishes to pilgrims for a safe pilgrimage and a truly fulfilling spiritual experience. I pray for peace and prosperity of J&K UT and well-being of one & all.
Omar Abdullah, who was present at the airport, said it was an honour to see off the pilgrims. “Wished them a safe, fulfilling journey and humbly requested prayers for peace and prosperity in our region,” he said. (STC)
