Govt issues guidelines for vehicle movement and parking ahead of autumn session of J&K Legislative Assembly beginning September 21

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13 (STC): In view of the upcoming Assembly session, the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued detailed guidelines to regulate the movement, entry and parking of vehicles in and around the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, reads a circular issued by the General Administration Department here today.
These measures are aimed at improving traffic flow during the assembly session, organizing vehicle parking and making security arrangements more effective.
According to the the circular, the vehicles of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers, advisors to the Chief Minister, Speaker and members of the Legislative Assembly will be parked at designated parking spaces inside the Assembly Complex Srinagar.
No private vehicles of employees posted in the Civil Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly, including the private vehicles of police personnel who are on security duties, will be allowed to enter the premises of the Civil Secretariat Srinagar, clarifies the circular.
Vehicles of authorized and accredited media representatives will be allowed to enter the premises of the Civil Secretariat, however, they will have to undergo the prescribed security check. The government has directed strict implementation of security norms in this regard. Similarly, all escort vehicles have been directed to park in the parking space available in Kashmir Haat (Exhibition Complex) instead of parking inside the Civil Secretariat, adds the circular.
The General Administration Department has asked all officers and officials working in the Civil Secretariat to fully cooperate with the Senior Superintendent of Police (Security), Civil Secretariat, Srinagar in regulating the movement and parking of vehicles during the Assembly session. The government has also directed all administrative secretaries to inform the employees of their respective departments about these new instructions and ensure their strict implementation.
