Hajj Pilgrimage: First batch of pilgrims from J&K departs from Bemina Hajj House

SRINAGAR, APRIL 18 (STC): Amid foolproof security arrangements, the first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir departed from Bimina Haj House here today. Jammu and Kashmir police has placed a multi-layered security blanket including drone surveillance and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) to ensure a smooth start to the annual pilgrimage.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Dr. G.V. Sandeep Chakravarthy, visited the Haj House on the opening day of departures and extended his greetings to the pilgrims.
Speaking to media, the SSP Srinagar said, “First of all, I would like to congratulate all the pilgrims from the bottom of my heart. Best wishes to everyone for this holy journey. This pilgrimage is a life-changing spiritual journey for our brothers.”
Dr. Chakravarthy prayed that the worship of the pilgrims be performed peacefully and safely. He further stated: “Together with the civil administration, we are ensuring that no pilgrim has any kind of inconvenience. We will ensure their departure smoothly.”
Meanwhile, pilgrims have been urged to cooperate with administration and security personnel to ensure their safety.
