HAS announces “Hajni Awards” to Dr Rafique Masoordi & Reshi Gh Mohi-ud-Din

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 28 (STC): Two prominent dignitaries, Rafique Masoodi (former Additional Director General, Doordarshan and former Secretary Cultural Academy) and Reshi Mohi-ud-Din Hajini (renowned sufi poet)
are to awarded “Khilat i Prof Mohi ud deen Hajni & Khilat i Dr Aziz Hajni Award announced by HALQA E ADAB SONAWARI for their outstanding contributions to literature, poetry, culture and society.
Dr Rafique Masoodi will be conferred the prestigious “Khilat-i-Prof. Mohi ud din Hajini” in recognition of his remarkable contribution to broadcasting, literature and the promotion of Kashmiri culture.
Dr Masoodi, a respected media personality, poet, writer and translator, has a distinguished career in public broadcasting. During his long association with Doordarshan, he played an important role in promoting meaningful programming and providing a platform to artists, writers and cultural voices. His contribution extends beyond broadcasting, with his literary and creative work reflecting a deep understanding of Kashmir’s cultural traditions and social ethos, reads the statement of the HALQA E ADAB SONAWARI.
The statement further reads that the honour is also a recognition of his efforts towards preserving and promoting the region’s rich literary and cultural legacy and his continued association with writers, poets and intellectuals.
Notably, Dr Rafique Masoodi is the only person who has headed all the cultural organisations viz CBS,Radio kashmir, Cultural academy & Doordarshan, the statement reads.
Reshi Mohi-ud-Din Hajini, a renowned Sufi poet, will be conferred with the “Khilat-i-Dr Aziz Hajini Award” for his contribution to Sufi poetry and Kashmiri literature.
The proposed felicitation is expected to bring together writers, poets, scholars, cultural activists and admirers of Kashmiri literature.
The Wahab Cultural Society has congratulated both of the award winners and said that such recognitions are aimed at celebrating individuals who have dedicated their lives to enriching Kashmir’s cultural heritage and inspiring future generations.
The Awards will be presented to them in its annual conference in October.
