Indian Railways restores direct train service between Budgam and Katra

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29 (STC): Jammu Division of Indian Railway has restored direct train service between Budgam and Katra.
Reports said that in view of the convenience of passengers and pilgrims going for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi, the Jammu Division of Northern Railways has decided to restore train service between Budgam and Vaishno Devi Katra. According to railway officials, train number 04688/04687 has been restored on its normal route between Budgam and Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from August 29.
Train number 04688 will depart from Budgam at 7:20 am and will reach Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:00 pm. Similarly, on the return journey, train number 04687 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:45 pm and will reach Budgam at 8:00 pm.
The restoration of train service will directly benefit the people of Kashmir Valley, students, employees and pilgrims going for the darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. This service will also serve as an important railway link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the Jammu region.
Meanwhile, the Railways has appealed to the passengers to check the latest train status and timings through the NTES mobile app, Indian Railways website or helpline number 139 before starting their journey. Northern Railways said that Indian Railways is committed to providing safe, smooth and comfortable travel facilities to the passengers.
