IUST to Convene National Conference on Innovative Pedagogies for Future-Ready Higher Education
AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Kashmir, will host a two-day National Conference on “Innovative Pedagogies for Future-Ready Higher Education” from July 30 to July 31, 2026. Organised by the university’s Design Innovation Center (DIC) as part of a faculty capacity building initiative, the conference aims to address the critical transition from policy formulation to classroom practice across higher education institutions.
Centered on the themes of experiential and interdisciplinary learning under the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), the conference focuses prominently on the “Design Your Own Degree” (DYoD) framework. The two-day gathering is designed to provide academic leaders, educators, and policy specialists with a collaborative forum to exchange institutional strategies, rethink traditional instructional methods, and establish scalable practices aligned with contemporary global educational standards.
The event brings together leadership from across Jammu and Kashmir’s academic landscape. Key dignitaries attending include Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chairman of the J&K Higher Education Council, and Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor of IUST. They will be joined by Vice-Chancellors from prominent partner institutions, including Prof. Nilofer Khan (University of Kashmir), Prof. Umesh Rai (University of Jammu), Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai (SKUAST-K), Prof. B.N. Tripathi (SKUAST-J), Prof. Pragati Kumar (SMVDU), Prof. Jawaid Iqbal (BGSBU), Prof. A. Ravinder Nath (Central University of Kashmir), Prof. Sanjeev Jain (Central University of Jammu), Prof. Mohammad Mobin (Cluster University Srinagar), and Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar (Cluster University Jammu).
