STC NEWS DESK
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 11 (STC): Rejecting reports of resignations of ministers ahead of a possible cabinet expansion and reshuffle, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Chaudhary has clarified that no minister has been asked to resign. He said that the decision to expand the cabinet or retain or remove a minister will be taken by the National Conference leadership and the Chief Minister. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking to reporters after attending the Kali Mata temple located in Bahu Fort on the first day of Navratri today. He said that he, as the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, wants to stand in the court of Mata and make it clear that no minister has been asked to resign. He also rejected the news that was claiming that all the ministers had submitted their resignations to the Chief Minister before the proposed cabinet reshuffle.
According to him, whatever decision the leadership takes will be final. He said, “Whoever the leadership decides to include in the cabinet, will be included and whoever it decides to remove, will be removed.”
The Deputy Chief Minister urged media houses to refrain from giving undue importance to speculations regarding possible cabinet reshuffle and not to exaggerate unverified reports. On this occasion, Surendra Chaudhary also referred to the incidents that took place in the national capital, New Delhi, where the CJP’s planned attempt to protest against Chief Election Commissioner at Jantar Mantar on October 10 was thwarted due to police action. He questioned the alleged limited coverage of the incident in the media and said that the media should also focus on the alleged treatment of children who had reached Delhi to demand their rights. Chaudhary appealed to media houses to focus on matters of public importance, the problems of the protesters and the rights of children instead of highlighting political speculations.
