LG Manoj Sinha highlights J&K’s development story after abrogation of Article 370 at Chicago event

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 08 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said that the abrogation of Article 370 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir and significant changes have taken place in the field of development in the region during the last six years.
He was addressing the IIT (BHU) Global Alumni Meet held in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Mentioning the changes that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir over the past years, Manoj Sinha said that the development story of the region has emerged as a prominent example. He said, “The abrogation of Article 370 changed the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir and the last six years have been of exceptional significance on the development front.”
According to Sinha, Jammu and Kashmir has moved from the shadow of fear to the light of opportunity, from isolation to integration and from despair to hope and a future. According to him, this change has opened up avenues for development, investment and creation of new employment opportunities in the region.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha paid tribute to the great Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya and highlighted his important role in the promotion of engineering education and industrial development of India.
Manoj Sinha said that Malviya’s ideas and vision are still inspiring the new generations to promote technology, strengthen the economy and serve the society. During his address, Sinha also shed detailed light on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He said that artificial intelligence, by combining human potential and machine intelligence, can become an important source of economic growth in the future. He stressed that the development of AI should be under the principles of ethics, basic human values and strict human oversight.
According to him, the direction of technology must be determined keeping in mind the well-being of humanity so that its benefits can reach all sections of society.
A new India is emerging, which is internally strong, confident in the external world and ready to play its role in shaping the future of humanity. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is strengthening its position on the global stage and is preparing itself for leadership in the future, said the Lieutenant Governor.
He further stated India is rapidly moving towards technological leadership while social welfare initiatives are also underway.
Manoj Sinha also referred to Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech in Chicago on September 11, 1893 and appreciated the role of IIT (BHU) global alumni and Indian diaspora in the development of global society. He urged IIT (BHU) global alumni to play an active role in the process of economic and cultural development of India.
