PDP plans protests on August 5 for restoration of Article 370; party cadres directed to participate

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 04 (STC): In support of the restoration of Article 370 and the release of political prisoners, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has planned to organise district-level protests across Jammu and Kashmir on August 5.
Notably, it was on August 5, 2019 when the Centre abrogated Article 370 and reorganised the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
In this regard, the party’s General Secretary (Organization), G.N. Lone Hanjura, has issued a notice conveying its constituents that the decision was taken by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti during a meeting attended by senior party leaders, MLAs, district presidents of the parent, women’s and youth wings, constituency in-charges, zonal presidents, zonal bodies and other office-bearers.
All party functionaries have been directed to ensure their active participation in the proposed protests to be held across the Union Territory on August 5.
The party has also instructed its workers to use only officially approved posters during the protests and asked all organizational units to ensure full participation while adhering to party directions.
