‘Run for Unity’: J&K Police Chief says increasing people’s participation reflects J&K’s journey towards peace and prosperity

SRINAGSR, OCTOBER 01 (STC): A Despite the efforts to affect peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, Jammu and Kashmir is moving towards peace and development.
Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat stated this in his address on the occasion of the flag-in ceremony of the ‘Run for Unity’ marathon organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the Police Golf Course here today.
Referring to anti-terrorism operations, DGP Nalin Prabhat said that the operations of the police and other security agencies are continuing continuously. He termed the month of September as important in terms of operational activities for the force. He said that the police is discharging its responsibilities on various fronts and is continuing operations to maintain law and order as well as to deal with the challenge of terrorism.
Meanwhile, speaking about the increasing participation of children and youth in sports and other constructive activities, the Police Chief said that the increasing participation in the ‘Run for Unity’ every year is a reflection of Jammu and Kashmir’s journey towards peace and prosperity, besides taking Jammu and Kashmir forward towards peace and prosperity.
The DGP said that providing opportunities for positive and constructive activities to the youth is an important part of this process. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, including the Armed Police, regularly organize sports tournaments and various programs to keep the youth engaged in sports and other activities. “The aim of these activities is to provide opportunities to the youth to showcase their talents and use their energy for positive purposes,” the DGP said.
Referring to the police operations against drugs, Nalin Prabhat said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered thousands of cases and arrested several people during the campaign against drug trafficking. He further said that properties linked to drug-related activities have also been attached under the law.
The DGP said that the police are continuing their anti-drug campaign and the aim of this campaign is to protect the young generation from the menace of drugs and prevent its spread in the society.
The DGP expressed his determination that the Jammu and Kashmir Police will continue to provide various platforms to the youth through sports and other positive initiatives and will continue to fulfill its responsibilities for the promotion of peace, development and prosperity in the region.
