World Blood Donor Day: RED DROP launches J&K’s first-ever blood donation App

: Jammu & Kashmir’s first blood donation mobile application was launched by RED DROP, under the aegis of an NGO, KASHMIR CONCERN here on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between blood donors, blood banks, and hospitals across the valley.
Addressing the media at the launch event, Founder and Chairman Dr. Touseef Ahmed stated, “This app will revolutionise the way blood donation is organised across Kashmir. It will seamlessly connect willing blood donors with blood banks and medical facilities, ensuring no life is lost due to a lack of timely access to blood.”
Prominent social figures joined the initiative. RED DROP President and acclaimed ‘Blood Man of JK’ Shabir Hussain, alongside ‘Blood Woman of JK’ Ms. Bilkees Ara, jointly remarked, “This digital platform will smoothen the entire donation process—from donor registration to real-time requests—making voluntary blood donation effortless and more efficient.”
The launch event witnessed enthusiastic participation from dignitaries across all walks of life. The ROTARY CLUB OF KASHMIR also extended its full support to the initiative, further strengthening the collaborative effort to promote voluntary blood donation across the region.
The app is now available for download, marking a historic step toward a self-sufficient blood donation network in Kashmir.
