JKLA Speaker presents comprehensive account of House business transacted during budget session

JAMMU, APRIL 04 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has consumed 110 hours and 06 minutes across 22 sittings during a budget session, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said today.
This way, he said, Jammu and Kashmir has become the first legislature in the country to publish a comprehensive account of House business.
“Eight government bills were received, introduced and passed during the session. Twenty-five papers and one ordinance were also laid in the House,” the Speaker said.
Presenting the details of House Business of Budget Session 2026, Speaker Rather said, “On private members’ business, 36 previous pending bills and 39 new private members’ bills were received. Of these, 36 were admitted and three disallowed. Seventy-two bills were listed, 24 taken up and two introduced.”
The House received 1,528 admitted questions (802 starred and 726 un-starred), of which 1,379 were listed, 151 taken up, 144 disallowed, two withdrawn and three not listed, Rather said. Three hundred thirty-one supplementaries were also raised, he said.
A total of 110 calling attention notices were received, with 63 disallowed, 47 admitted, 26 listed and 26 taken up, the Speaker informed.
On resolutions, Speaker said 128 were received, of which 101 admitted and 27 disallowed. Fourteen were balloted and listed, and four taken up, though no resolution was adopted, he said.
Two short duration notices were discussed during the session, the Speaker added. He also informed that 2,231 cut motions were received, of which 2,059 were allowed and 172 disallowed.
