Supreme Court’s notice concerning EC decision a welcome step: Dr. Farooq

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 05 (STC): Jammu & Kashmir National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has welcomed the Supreme Court’s notice concerning decisions taken by an Election Commissioner. He expressed happiness over that the apex court taking cognisance of the matter.
He said, “I am very happy that the Supreme Court has taken cognisance of this.”
Dr. Farooq’s remarks came after a party meeting, which he said was convened to strengthen the organisation and identify shortcomings that needed to be addressed. “Discussions were held with Srinagar’s eight MLAs, ward presidents and other party workers. We spoke to them about the shortcomings that need to be addressed,” he said.
On the party’s new constitution, he said it would be presented to the public only after completing the necessary internal procedures. “First, we will place it before our working committee. After it is approved, the process will move forward,” he said.
